I’m Watt –  a husband, part-time blogger, and homesteader.

A few years back, my wife and I had a dream: to escape the rat-race of living in the suburbs outside of Tampa, Florida.

So we purchased a few acres of land in a remote corner of Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau with the crazy idea of creating our own rural paradise.

Since then, we’ve been busy converting that land into our homestead. We’ve done much of the work ourselves while incurring as little debt as possible in the process. We were finally able to relocate full-time to Tennessee in January 2018.

I created this website to share our personal homesteading journey and help others who have the same dream of living a simpler, more self-sufficient life.

By sharing our experiences along with practical resources and industry-expert guest posts, I hope to make Homesteading How To your go-to resource for your own homesteading and self-sufficiency projects.
